Time flies

Sorry I haven't been around that much. Lets see here...

1) Last weekend was San Diego Comic Con. (Yes I will do a post on that eventually)

1.5) SDCC caused my back to go out hard core, it has been a full week and it still hasn't come back in place. If you see it tell it I am looking for it, and miss it dearly. I walk like my Pop and am seriously thinking about a cane.

2) My trusty laptop bit the big one =( Well not totally, more like the charging cord bit it. So I have to scrounge up $ to get a new cord. BLAH!!

3) BR is moving. So I am trying to spend as much time soaking in the greatness that is BR before the 4th.

4) Gertrude is officially for sale. If I don't sell her by this time next week she is going to the junk man.

5) I hear Jenni over at Yes! I am a bitch... is having another giveaway. Go check it out. (BTW I won her last one woot woot, and she has altered her entry process to it is easier to enter *claps*)

That is all the update for now. More in depth when I can get longer access to interwebbies.

Such a craptastic day

Today I was going to have an awesome lazy day. Chill with Br, get mani's and pedi's, stop at the post office and mail some books for PBS.

I crawled out of my awesome sleep haze and didn't want to get up. Something told me to just stay in bed. However I knew that today is one day that I have nothing else going on and Br was munchkin free for a little while. So out of bed I crawled. (Bad Idea)

Go to post office and I get to deal with Cranky Post Office Asian. SUPER! I have to mail 2 PBS books and I was lazy so I just grabbed 2 envelopes and stuffed them inside. 1) I forgot the zip code, no biggie 2) I had the printed paper from PBS and the normal Post guy just gives me a clear plastic pouch to stick it in that sticks to the front of the package. So bitchy Asian is a bitch and grills me about what is in the packages, UMM I just put the books in the packages in front of your face. Did you see me put a letter in there? Because I didn't! She messes up 2x on each package then tells me that my card is declined. "Are you sure you have money?"
@#$#@!!  I take my stuff and leave. Sending a text to my bank on the way out the door making sure I do indeed have funds.

In the car Br calls "yea our normal nail place is closed, guess they went on vacation" Great lets meet somewhere and see if we can find another place since this is the LAND of fucking immigrant Asians. We find a place and there are 3 people waiting. No biggie. We sign in and one of the waiters stands up and says "don't forget we are a party of 6"  -.- There is one name on the list before us. Plus this place was charging $22, ugh lets go somewhere else. As we walk out the woman says "Good thing you are finding some place else, we were here first just haven't signed in yet because the rest of our 8person party isn't here" Way for your customers to kill business for you. Sigh

Finally get the nails done and I am starting to relax when they say "I so sorry your card has been declined." RAWRRRRR So Br pays for all of it (She is such a sweetie) and I call the bank.

"Yea we put your account on hold because there was some odd activity......Have you used it at a Holiday Inn in blank City Missouri?" Um no no I haven't. "Yea we didn't think so either sooo now I have to cancel your card and issue you a new one. It will take about 7-10 days." They were super nice only problem my bank is in Rhode Island and I am still in California. SUCKY!!  Hope I get a new card before Comicon next weekend.

J has cheered me up immensely, he also taught me how to do simple photo shop like this pic of a friend of mine I plan on a Babylon 5 marathon tonight hopefully some pool tomorrow, this will be an awesome weekend I SHALL MAKE IT!!   Now for ice cream!!

Count down to SDCC!

I feel like a zombie....not like I want brains or anything, I just feel like a stretched out slinkie. Only I don't know where all my time and energy go. Operation "Bring Keagan Home" is going as well as can be expected. I have gotten way more donations then I ever expected and I am super thankful for all the help.

I found a nifty give-away today. It is for "green" chap-stick click here to enter and tell her I sent you <3   Eco Lips Giveaway

I am starting to get super excited about Comic Con!! It is June 21-24 at the San Diego convention center. Br and I are going to dress up both days. I think Saturday we are going all steam-punky complete with corsets and short skirts. Then Sunday I am dressing as Holo from Spice and Wolf. I have Catherine from The Cat's Pajamas making this costume for me. (Yes I will post pics after SDCC)   I swear if I hear any 'furry' jokes I will harm people! Some of the people I am going to stalk that are scheduled to be there are: R. K. Milholland of Something*Positive, Danielle Corsetto of Girls with Slingshots, J. Jacques of Questionable Content and of course the one I am MOST excited about author Christopher Moore.

Nothing else really of interest is going on. My sister's wedding is coming up quickly and I need to get tickets, but I keep slacking on that. *writes note on hand to buy tickets* I am also slightly stressing about seeing people in Rhode Island that I haven't seen since February. Plus what in the hell do you wear to a beachy 2nd wedding (both bride and groom) in September. ARRG family is so stressful!!

Maybe I will go do a review on B&B to chill out. Definitely doing a mailbox post on Sunday since I have gotten some awesome things already this week.

I be pimpin

Sorry I have been MIA so much lately. Lots of shit going on as I am sure you all know. Finally got to talk to the Ex about Keagan. So I feel a little bit better about that, just knowing things are on track and going as smoothly as possible helps my state of mind a TON! His lady friend will be handling things on that end for me, which is SUPER nice of her. I am very very grateful.

There are some interesting things going on in the blogisphere that I think everyone should take note of.....

1)  Toys For Sex  is having an AWESOME giveaway. They are giving away four gift cards! 2 - $10, 1 - $30, and 1 -$50. This is how you enter Clicky Clicky. There are also an additional  52 ways you can enter (after you do the 1 required) so you can up your chances of being a winnnnnnner!!

2) I have found some awesome new bloggers to follow.

Lets start with the "normal" ones.....
Hopeless but Optimistic is a noob to blogging and she entertains me with her tid bits.

Fabulously Neurotic is written by my favorite hippie Chanel.
Issues keeps me up to date on current events and his ramblings on them.

Destery of I want you to hit me as hard as you can just plain old entertains me!

On the Sexy list we have P and C at Musings of a Drunken Student.

We can't forget the ever lovely and wonderful Jess at Let's talk about "it"

Ok that is all the pimping I can handle for now. Who knew it was such hard work?? Go take a gander, hell have a goose too. (he he he farm humor)
Till next time

Bring Keagan Home

As most of you know I am recently divorced. When that happened I ended up having to leave my dog with my ex-husband for safe keeping until I got things settled. (Which I finally have.) Unfortunately the ex can no longer keep Keagan (the dog) because the lovely US Navy has decided that it is deployment time(unexpectedly). The ex is set to deploy in about 30days, I don't want to have to pass Keagan on to a random base family when I can just bring him home to me. Please help me bring my puppy home. Through a pet shipping service the going rate is about $2000 and I can not make the arrangements until I have paid in full. This is me asking for help, anything will help me defer the cost, even if it is just pass on the word to some one who can donate.

Happy Fourth of July and All That Brew Ha Ha

I love fireworks! I just wish they weren't quite so loud. My favorite is the squiggly squirmy kind. They remind me of one of those science movies you see in school about sperm. (I know I have a seriously dirty mind)  I know everyone knows all about the Fourth of July but I would like to take this time to do my own little analysis of the National Anthem. Since that is what is usually most credited for the fireworks display.

Star Spangled Banner ~ Francis Scott Key (1814)
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
(personally I like that line, it sets a nice tone)
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
(Was he hiding? Watching from a safe distance?)
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
(This is where those famous fireworks come in)

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
(Oh hey what be that there?)
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
(Wait I thought it was just in the ocean, now its in a stream?)
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
(Nener Nener boo boo)
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
(Oh the rhyming, it makes me want a peanut)

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
(well all those that we count as men that is...no blacks or mexicans or even indians at this time may apply)
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
(Until it isn't cool to proclaim your belief in god, for fear that you are going to cause someone who pays taxes to become butt hurt)
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I just realized this will be the first Fourth that I will be totally family free. Last year I had the RI family, year before I had long(ish) time friends around. I get to have some new experiences this year. Going to a lake out in the boonies of East County with some people. Its just weird. I'm used to being with the family and BBQ-ing then going to Old Mountain Field for fireworks. The 4th is the only holiday that the family really gathers for, since it isn't a religious holiday.

Really quick I would like to share a story....
It is tradition in our family to bail the hay at the RI farm around the 4th of July then once that has been done we have a big BBQ and then we all go for fireworks. One year we had a lot of the family there to help and as is also tradition my family likes to throw a few bails on the trailer and then toss a beer back. So one cousin is fondly remembered for having a few two many and passing out on the trailer bed to sleep it off. Some passers by saw this and called the law to make sure he was ok. Nothing really exciting happened they just said that he needed to move off the trailer which was parked on a public road. So I got to witness his wife picking him up like a child and carting him to the house. I don't think he will ever live that one down.

Anyway hope everyone has a good holiday no matter what you all end up doing. I know I will end up being DD some time in the night. I'm sure there will be pics and at least a story or two. Till then.......
